5b8d21164d Add arguments to Widevine lshal debug hook.
Add options to dump Widevine Cdm properties,
Widevine Cdm metrics, or both.

The valid arguments are Cdm Metrics (m|M) or Cdm Properties (p|P).
If no arguments are provided, both Cdm properties and
Cdm metrics will be displayed.

Test: adb shell lshal debug [drm service] [m/p]
  adb shell lshal debug android.hardware.drm@1.3::IDrmFactory/widevine

7e689a1828 Handle SPOID calculation for L3
[ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/101443 ]

The WVDrmPlugin has a single CdmIdentifier. The CdmIdentifier contains
a SPOID that is calculated from the device ID (keybox or OEM cert),
an application reverse domain name and possibly an origin.

The CdmIdentifier is set and SPOID calculated on certain calls into
WVDrmPlugin. Once it is set, it will not be recalculated. We prevent
certain operations such as modifying the origin once the CdmIdentifier
has been set as this will require recalculating the SPOID.
Recalculating the SPOID may affect open sessions or calls in progress.

In a similar way, modifying the security level, will affect the
Device ID value and in turn the SPOID. The security level cannot be modified
if any sessions are open. This does leave open the possibility that the
SPOID may be calculated at one security level, sessions are then closed,
and the security level is then changed without an error being flagged.

The provisioning certificate file name is based on the SPOID. When
the SPOID does not match the security level, either the provisioning
information may not be found even though that security level has
been provisionined or the provisioning information may be stored
in an incorrect location if provisioning occurs.

The correct solution is to prevent modifications to the security level
once the CdmIdentifier is set. This is a behavior change and might
impact apps. We will reevaluate this for the next release.

For now, we will work around this. When the CdmIdentifier is set for L3,
we will calculate SPOIDs with both L1 and L3 device IDs and check if
provisioning previously occurred with SPOIDs calculated for that level.
If so, use that level, otherwise use L3.

e27bc4ba6a Accept a security level to be specified during provisioning
[ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/97267 ]

In earlier releases, provisioning would occur based on a cached
security level. If an open session call returned a NotProvisionedException
the security level would be cached for use with any future provisioning
call.

An app would have to set the security level, then call openSession,
have it fail and then request provisioning. This fits the normal flow of
most apps. Still on occasion, an app might change requested security level
after an openSession call failed. Using the cached security level
would result in unexpected behavior.

This change allows provisioning to occur at the last security level that
was set.

ca39586f8d Move the CDM version string to a header file
[ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/95943 ]

The CDM version for android is now defined in a platform specific
header file. A check for version number match has been removed
from integration tests as it will always be true. We will still
get a notification to change the CDM version when the Android OS
version gets updated.

a62886b925 Combined Decrypt Calls
(This is a merge of http://go/wvgerrit/93829,
http://go/wvgerrit/93830, http://go/wvgerrit/93832,
http://go/wvgerrit/93833, and http://go/wvgerrit/93834 from the
Widevine repo.)

This implements the CDM code changes necessary to take advantage of
Combined Decrypt Calls on OEMCrypto v16. The result of this is that
WVCryptoPlugin is much lighter now because it can pass the full sample
down to the core in one call, but CryptoSession is heavier, as it now
has to handle more complex fallback logic when devices can't handle
multiple subsamples at once.

This patch also removes support for the 'cens' and 'cbc1' schema, which
are being dropped in OEMCrypto v16. This fixes an overflow in the code
for handling those schemas by removing it entirely.

This patch also fixes the "in chunks" legacy decrypt path to use larger
chunk sizes on devices with higher resource rating tiers.

78d2fa5e9e Improve android MediaDrm property latency
[ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/89848 ]

Apps query a number of properties at initialization. The mediaDrm
API getProperty allows the query of a single property at a time.
This causes a series of requests. If no crypto
sessions are concurrently open, a series of expensive OEMCrypto
Initialization and Termination calls will occur.

In this change OEMCrypto termination is delayed. If an OEMCrypto
Terminate is followed in close succession by an Initialize, neither
will occur avoiding the overhead. A timer enables a countdown process.
If no session activity occurs, the timer will eventually terminate
OEMCrypto and exit.

435f839f7e Support CE CDM in OEMCrypto Testbed
(This is a merge of http://go/wvgerrit/81628. Although it is primarily
to support a CE CDM feature, this patch touched shared code and so must
be merged.)

The problem that has long stopped the OEMCrypto Testbed from working
with the CE CDM build is that the OEMCrypto Testbed sometimes accesses
the storage via the normal filesystem APIs rather than the FileSystem
abstraction. Furthermore, when doing this, it assumes that FileSystem
abstraction is just a wrapper around direct filesystem access and thus
it should use the same paths in both kinds of filesystem access.
However, this is not true on the CE CDM where FileSystem wraps an opaque
key/value store.

This patch adds a property that allows a platform to indicate if its
FileSystem base path represents a real file system path and sets it
appropriately. ("true" for all platforms except CE CDM) It also adds
code to the OEMCrypto Testbed that makes use of this property to modify
its behavior. When running on a device where the FileSystem base path is
not a real file system path, it will instead use the directory of the
current executable as its base path when accessing the filesystem
directly.

* Build CE & Jenkins CDMs With BoringSSL from third_party/

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/37120 ]

Up until now, integrators have been responsible for providing a
compatible crypto library for use by the CE CDM. (either OpenSSL or
BoringSSL) After this change, this decision will no longer be in their
hands. The CE CDM build will always use the copy of BoringSSL in
third_party/, which will be statically linked with our library with
hidden visibility. This allows us to better control what crypto library
we use and will prevent continuing problems with trying to support both
  OpenSSL and BoringSSL.

Unfortunately, BoringSSL began using C++11 in mid-2017, and we can't
support C++11 right now. Until we can, we need to use a C++11-free
version of BoringSSL for libssl. The CDM itself will continue to use a
recent BoringSSL, as it only needs libcrypto. But the unit tests that
need libssl have to use the legacy version.

as well to use xoroshiro128+ instead of xorshift, since it uses more
than one seed/state (which are 64-bit) and has higher "statistical quality".
The default implementations for the seed generation use /dev/urandom.

* Configure base path for Level3FileSystem

  Author: Srujan Gaddam <srujzs@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/39506 ]

This is in response to b/70354006. This change makes the
Android Level3FileSystem use the existing properties method
GetDevicesFilesBasePath for binderization. The same is done for the
  Linux implementation.

* Add legacy_kit/ to BoringSSL Directory

  Author: John W. Bruce <juce@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/38861 ]

This adds a second copy of BoringSSL to the third_party/boringssl/
directory. This second copy is pinned to the last revision of BoringSSL
not to require C++11 and is not updated by the UPDATE_BORINGSSL.sh
script. This second copy will be used to provide libssl to the tests on
devices that do not support C++11.

Once we support C++11 in the CDM again, this weight should be removed
and all targets should use the copy of BoringSSL in the kit/ directory.

  Bug: 67907873

* Use Shared Libraries for Unit Tests

  Author: John W. Bruce <juce@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/38860 ]

Some unit tests were using a statically-linked CDM instead of a
dynamically-linked one. (Or, in one case, trying to link both ways into
the same binary.) For now, we need to only link dynamically, so that the
unit tests and the CDM can use different versions of BoringSSL.

Long-term, we would like to test both kinds of linkage. (See b/69548115
  for that.)

Some unit tests were also using a dynamicaly-linked CDM that was named
such that it appeared to be statically-linked. This patch renames some
targets to make the linkage clearer.

* Refactoring to allow encryption of client ID

  Author: Rahul Frias <rfrias@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/37460 ]

The code has been restructured to allow encryption of client
identification in provisioning requests. This will be enabled
when server side changes have been made (b/69427217).

  * Additional information is included in the Client Identification
    portion of the provisioning request.
  * Client identification will be encrypted with a service
certificate provided by the app/client. Platform changes
to enable passing this to core are needed. If a service certificate
is not provided, a default one associated with the production Keysmith
    will be used.
  * Switched APIs in CdmEngine to take a service certificate for
provisioning rather than licensing. Service certificates for
licensing are session based and passed as properties from platform
    code.

* Make Android NDK Builds Work With Latest BoringSSL

  Author: John W. Bruce <juce@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/37000 ]

The latest updates to BoringSSL require C99 or later. Our NDK-based
builds (OEMCrypto Variants & Fastball) were not specifying a C standard.
This patch adds compiler flags so that C files are compiled as C11 now.
Note that this is about the *C* standard in use, not the *C++* standard,
  which this patch leaves untouched.

  Author: John W. Bruce <juce@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/36761 ]

This is the result of running UPDATE_BORINGSSL.sh. Future runs of this
script should produce much smaller sets of changed files, but because
the BoringSSL revision already in this directory was so old and
contained many extraneous files from the Android operating system, the
set of changed files is extensive this time.

  BUG: 68328352

* Deprecate using keyboxes as identification

  Author: Rahul Frias <rfrias@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/36740 ]

Previously some platforms supported using keyboxes rather than
certificates as the identification tokens in the license request
message. All platforms that share core CDM code of the master branch now
either provision using a keybox and use a DRM certificate or an
OEM certificate as identification. No future usage of keyboxes
  as identifying tokens is planned.

  Since the platform property use_certificates_as_identification
is always set to true, the negative code paths are never taken and
  can be removed.

* Fix Fastball / OEMCrypto Variant BoringSSL Makefiles

  Author: John W. Bruce <juce@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/36926 ]

Previously, when moving the BoringSSL source within the tree, I was not
able to verify that I had not broken the NDK-compatible makefiles used
by Fastball because that build is broken on master. I had to make a
best-guess as to how they should be updated and hope.

Now, however, I have been informed that the OEMCrypto Variants also use
these makefiles, and I have been able to use that build to find where I
broke them and get them fully working.

  Author: John W. Bruce <juce@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/36925 ]

When I moved the BoringSSL source in the tree, I updated the Android.mk
files that pointed to it in order to build it. I did not realize that

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/36561 ]

I want to make updating BoringSSL as simple as possible for us going
forward. A future commit will add a script that automatically downloads
and sets up the latest version of BoringSSL. To facilitate this script,
a clear distinction needs to be made between the files that can be
downloaded with / regenerated from the BoringSSL source and the files
that are maintained by us by hand.

The version of BoringSSL in this change is exactly the same as the one
already in this directory. It has just been moved one folder deeper.

  Author: John W. Bruce <juce@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/36560 ]

There are some symlinks in the current copy of BoringSSL that are
causing headaches when I try to upload future changes to Gerrit. These

* Gyp cleanup and OpenSSL v10.1 support.

  Author: Gene Morgan <gmorgan@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/36001 ]

OpenSSL 10.1 has a small number of incompatible changes.

A desktop system upgrade exposed some issue in the build scripts.
Specifically, the linux build was using both third_party/protobufs (2.6.1)
and the version installed on the system (3.0 in this case). The linux
cdm.gyp depended on cdm/cdm.gyp which caused that plus some
  additional issues.

These changes are necessary to support g++ version:
    g++ (Debian 6.3.0-18) 6.3.0 20170516

Also did some cosmetic rework on run_current_tests to make it easier
to figure out what is going on when something fails.

Also tweaked some of the compiler settings for g++ support (revisit
  this later).

                    Gt(certificate.size() + wrapped_private_key.size())))

  Author: Rahul Frias <rfrias@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/28742 ]

RELEASE_ALL_USAGE_INFO_ERROR_4 and 5 were introduced and made use of in
http://go/wvgerrit/24022 (branch: oc-dev). The error code definitions

When http://go/wvgerrit/24622 from cdm_partners_3.2 was merged to master
(http://go/wvgerrit/27723) there was conflict in error codes. The error
codes were adjusted to RELEASE_ALL_USAGE_INFO_ERROR_3 and 4
  and were made use of.

To avoid renaming the errors between oc-dev and master, new errors
RELEASE_ALL_USAGE_INFO_ERROR_6 and 7 have been added to handle the
scenarios noted in the merge from cdm_partner_3.2. The other

  Author: Srujan Gaddam <srujzs@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/27921 ]

This is a potential fix for b/36656190. Set aside public
key on first call to get the public key, and use it afterwards.
This gets rid of extra calls to OEMCrypto_GetOEMPublicCertificate(),
which has side-effect of staging the OEM private key.

  BUG: 35319024

* Modifiable OEMCrypto

  Author: Fred Gylys-Colwell <fredgc@google.com>

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/24729 ]

This CL adds a new variant of the OEMCrypto mock code that adjusts its
behavior based on a configuration file. This is intended for
  testing.

For example, a tester can set current_hdcp to 2 in the options.txt
file, push it to the device, and verify that a license is granted for
HDCP 2.0. Then the tester can edit the value of current_hdcp to 1 and
push the file to the device. Playback should stop because the license
  is no longer valid.

This variant uses a real level 1 liboemcrypto.so to push data to a
secure buffer. That means we can test playback for a license that
requires secure buffers on an Android device with real secure buffers.

wv_content_decryption_module to extract metrics from instances about to
be closed. These are held until reported to the caller.

Test: Manually verified that collection is now occurring correctly. Also
added unit test: wv_cdm_metric_test.

a0da1f067b Support GetPropertyByteArray for getting metrics.
Adds support for GetPropertyByteArray to return a serialized set of metrics
to the caller. This should be the last part of the widevine plugin
changes that fix the referenced bug. More changes are coming on the
MediaDrm side.

43b8522b70 Pass CdmIdentifier to UsageInfo Methods
The methods on WvContentDecryptionModule related to UsageInfo (Secure
Stops) do not work if kDefaultCdmIdentifier has not been provisioned.
This can occur if an app provisions and uses an origin without any app
on that device ever provisioning the default origin. More concerningly,
this will happen 100% of the time on SPOID-using devices, as there is no
way to provision the default identifier on these devices.

The fix is to pass the current identifier to these methods so that they
do not have to use kDefaultCdmIdentifier.

c85351682f SPOID
(This is a merge of go/wvgerrit/23182)

This patch adds the framework for Stable Per-Origin Identifiers to the
CDM. Calculating SPOIDs will be done on the client-side, and they are
sent as part of the provisioning request. SPOIDs are also available to
the app as the Device Unique ID, replacing the previous method of
returning the actual Device Unique ID from the keybox / OEM certificate.

Different SPOIDs must use separate storage, just as different origins
already do. Support for this has been added to the Android adapter to the
CDM Core. However, the code in the Android glue layer that would drive
this behavior will be checked in in a separate change. As such, all
Android devices will continue using the legacy behavior even after this
patch goes in, until the glue layer code can be updated.

182f3c8058 Avoid race condition on closing CDM session.
[ Merge from go/wvgerrit/22920 ]

Automated tests reveal a race condition between closing
a session and the periodic policy timer event. If a close
session was in progress (WVDrmPlugin::closeSession) and
CdmEngine::CloseSession caused the CdmEngine::session_list_lock_
to be held, a call into CdmEngine::OnTimerEvent would pend on the
release of the lock.

The close session would continue to deallocate the session
and disable (stop) the policy timer leaving the CdmEngine::OnTimerEvent
call in an undefined state. This would result in an ANR.

This subtle race-condition was introduced when changes were made
to add in per-origin storage [ http://go/wvgerrit/17971 ]. This seems
to happen at a low frequency (~ < 0.5%).

To address a lock has been introduced to protect the map
WvContentDecryptionModule::cdms_.

Test: Unit tests + 200 aupt test iterations

97e826412d Add cipher mode and pattern encryption support
[ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/16364 ]

http://go/wvgerrit/16249 changed the name of the encryption pattern
structure from OEMCrypto_PatternDesc to OEMCrypto_CENCEncryptPatternDesc
to remove ambiguity. These are matching changes to CDM core.

[ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/16340 ]

This CL passes the cipher mode in the license to OEMCrypto when
keys are loaded and specifies the pattern encryption scheme to
OEMCrypto_DecryptCENC.

e5dfb83e03 Improve query performance
[ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/15780 ]

Android mediaDrm allows callers to serially query status information through a
property API. CDM however retrieves all status information in a map and
filters out all but the relevent one. This leads to delays in Netflix app
startup. Rewriting the CDM interface to return only the queried value.

0fe3f79cc3 Additional merges from cdm master
* Update unit test make files to use BoringSSL

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/14173 ]

This CL updates the android makefiles to use the libcrypto_static.

* Do Not Run Provisioning Tests On Devices Without Keyboxes

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/15633 ]

The provisioning tests outside OEMCrypto were failing on devices that
use baked-in certificates because only OEMCrypto knows that the cert
is baked in and the device cannot be reprovisioned. This change
skips those two tests if the device says it does not implement
rewrapping the cert. (i.e. it does not implement provisioning)

  Bug: 23554998

* Add new third-party libs (protobuf & gyp)

  [ Merge of http://go/wvgerrit/14717 ]

The CE CDM used to expect these to be installed system-wide, which
creates challenges for integrators who must cross-compile the CDM.

These are now used in source form from third_party.
